As residents of Oswego, all of us at Premier Mailing & Printing are actively involved in the community and try to stay up-to-date on what’s going on in the area. That’s why we thought we’d put together a list of Halloween events happening in Oswego, IL during the month of October.

Oswego Cemetery Walk – Thursday, October 6, 2016

Hosted by the Oswegoland Park District and the Oswegoland Heritage Association, this family-friendly event is taking place from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Visitors will be guided through the Oswego Township Cemetery in small groups and visit with the “ghosts” of past Oswego residents at their gravesites. The last tour will leave at 9:00 pm.

Pumpkin Races – Saturday, October 15, 2016

Hosted by the Oswegoland Optimist Club, the Pumpkin Races are held from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on the corner of Main Street and Jackson Street in downtown Oswego.

In the Pumpkin Races, children and businesses carve a pumpkin and attach wheels to it. Then, they race their pumpkins down a hill to see who wins. There is a Kids Division and a Business Division. All proceeds raised at the event will go towards the Oswegoland Optimist Club’s Christmas Project. The Oswego Presbyterian Church is also hosting a Chili Cook-off during the races, and select Oswego businesses will be offering trick-or-treating. Races start at noon.
